Sports attire is worn throughout the day. Cover-ups are worn over swimsuits during breakfast and lunch. In the Tradewinds dining and lounge areas after 6 p.m., ladies wear elegant casual clothing, while gentlemen wear collared shirts and slacks, however, jeans, tennis shoes, and open toed shoes are not appropriate for men's evening wear. Sport coats and ties and cocktail dresses are optional. At Deadman's Beach Bar & Grill, casual wear and shorts can be worn for dinner.
A valid passport is the principal requirement for entry into The British Virgin Islands, the US, Canada, UK and European countries; If in doubt about the necessity of a visa, contact the nearest BVI Tourist Board Office, the nearest British Embassy, or contact the Chief Immigration Department, BVI Government at Tel: (284) 494-3471 or 468-3701 ext. 4700. The airport departure tax is $20 per person.
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2007, travelers to and from the B.V.I. to have a passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States.
This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports.
Please note the revised date for passports required for re-entry into the United States from the Caribbean. It has changed from December 1, 2005 to January 1, 2007.
Resort Policy:
Children over eight are welcome year round. Please inquire with our Reservations Office directly for any seasonal exceptions to this policy.
Due to the nature of the Resort's facilities and vacation environment, no organized children's programs are offered and parental supervision is advocated. In order to maintain the ambiance and continuity of the Resort, and ensure we are enhancing the overall guest experience, there may be specified times for dining, use of the pool and designated adult areas.
Villa Policy:
Due to the nature of the Villa facilities, privacy, and customized services, our Villas are accommodating to the family environment. While our 3-bedroom Hawk's Nest Villa follows our Resort policy noted above, our Crow's Nest and Falcon's Nest Villa Estates offer a more extensive Villa Program, therefore, allowing us to customize every detail of the Villa experience and accommodate children of all ages.
We maintain our own water purification system to ensure that the water in all guest rooms and resort facilities is perfectly safe for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
The official currency of the B.V.I. is the U.S. dollar.
Peter Island Resort operates on 110 volt/60 cycle AC, as in North America.
Wireless Internet access is available in the Lobby, the Villas, the Harbor/Marina area and in the Peter Island Club. Desktop computers with hi-speed access are available for Guest use in the Peter Island Club as well. It is not recommend to use the phone lines in the rooms for Internet access as it will be a dial-up connection and approximately $8.50 for the first minute and $1.50 for each additional minute.
Resort shuttle vans are available to transport you to all areas of the resort, including White Bay Beach.
